Service factor is an abnormal load that the motor should handle but run hotter than normal so you should expect some shortening of expected life of the windings. Whether you will ever know you have killed it by running it hotter is a good question.


Dayton motor on a unload auger

rated 23 amps ran a lot of loads for 20 years at 24 to 26

used to put a sunblock over it in the summer to keep it cooler
