| my sterling truck has had a no start condition at times. Generally turn the key and nothing. click the key hard a few times and it fires up. May go weeks with no issues then no start.
decided to not risk it anymore so started chasing wires. I have it narrowed down to a starter relay labelled Nartron 1300-?-6 327. Google shows it as most likely being a 1300-2-6c I am judging this off of the 327 that is on the label.
a quick search shows either E bay or other unique sellers. some are wanting 700 USD for this relay.
From my chasing this relay feeds the typical ford solenoid on the fender which feeds the started. I can jump the solenoid and the starter spins. I can not however get 12v to the ford solenoid from the keyed wire. chasing the ford solenoid feed wire i get back to this nartron solenoid. it has 12v in but nothing out, so thinking this is the issue. 12v from the ford solenoid battery hot to the 12v feed on the same spins the starter.
I can not find any cross reference listing for this.
A) is Nartron still making these relays?
B) Would a heavy truck place know how to cross this, if a cross is available? generally thinking they can.
C) is this relay really a multi hundred dollar item?
I do not know how to read the numbers on relays, so I need some help in crossing this if i go this route.
I am not 100% confident this is the issue. I am pretty sure but before I spend big money I dont want to just change parts.
thanks
