If for bean prep, they just ain’t all that fussy. Never can or will understand the need to burn upwards of 3 gallons of fuel or more per acre pulling Dominator type deep rippers just to plant beans. Those implements require massive HP per foot of cut, and should be relegated to the COC crowd only, imo. I’ve always been impressed with the results behind a Landoll 2320 type disc ripper. They leave a pretty nice level job, with hp requirements falling squarely between an old school Glencoe SoilSaver and 875/Dominator type tools. And they can be found for not a lot of money invested. I’d try and find a five shank, I think you’ll be impressed/happy with the results. I’ve never had one plug either. EarthMasters can be found for even less, and would do a suitable job as long as a good leveling attachment was hanging off the back.
