Subject: RE: Dumping air in semi trailer

SW N.D.
I drive side dump at work and never have blown an air bag while dumping. With that age of trailer you may have air bags go bad considering it’s likely been sitting outside the entire 11 years, but you shouldn’t have one blow while dumping. I’ve had air bags blow about any other time, but they were rotted, so not really surprising that they blew. As for the lift tag, on a tandem axle trailer, a lift isn’t real common. That’s more for triple or quad axle+ trailers. I pull a triple axle with a rear lift tag. One of the newer ones we have, both the front and rear axles lift, so only the center axle is on the ground.
