It happens.
I noticed a couple years ago that the oil filter for a 50 series tractor with the 7.6 liter/466 engine had a different number on filter and box. I’m not sure if it is still that way.
Now I look them up on the parts website instead of using number on filter.
If you look up the part number off Deere’s website (which will be the number appearing on the box) and try to cross that number you will likely get the wrong filter. Cross the number on the filter and it will probably be the right thing. I think. Haven’t proved that theory yet. |
