Subject: Fenders on Volvo Truck

NW Iowa
So... I was looking to put half fenders on my new-to-me Volvo day cab trucks but when I get them held up into position, it sure looks like the trailer is likely to catch the rear edge of the fender when hooking up to the trailer? I have some 2x6" tubing I plan to use to raise up the 5th Wheel plate but I don't see it completely resolving the problem.

My next thought was to switch over to single axle fenders over the front duals only BUT.... is there a lot of fore/aft movement of the tires with the travel of the suspension?

What do you guys have and what to you recommend? These trucks throw rocks like crazy and I'm gonna lose a rear window soon if I don't do something.
