Subject: RE: 9760 Feederhouse

SW Ohio
In the process of putting my 9670 back together from just having done this job.

Definitely take the FH off, its too easy to do. I replaced all my feed accelerator wear strips, and some of the angle pieces due to damage from previous owner. I had one wear strip come off last fall so I used all new bolts and nuts. I had previously flipped them over.

Check the curved hinged plate that goes under the feederhouse and makes the transition to the rock trap. Mine was worn at the hinge.

Definitely curved plastic wear strips in front of the sprockets.

I wound up doing the floor after getting the sprockets out, I could see how bad it was worn. Might not have made it through the season.

I'm also doing the front drum and the whole chain. Not sure if you can do it on that machine but if you can, upgrade to the chain with the cast bars. There are some wear strips on the drum carriage on mine that have worn through to the attaching bolts. Not sure if yours will have those.

I'm finally getting close on mine, couple days and a few more parts it should be ready to go, just in time it looks like
